Community engagement with Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) kitchens in EA Fasher continues to grow, with many residents increasingly relying on them as a vital source of daily food. The availability of at least one consistent meal each day has helped strengthen a sense of food security for many families.
On April 16, 2026, daily meal services coincided with the arrival of MDPD’s weekly food convoy, which distributed 1,200 food baskets to 1,200 families across 11 neighborhoods in Al Fasher, further expanding the reach of support.
On the same day, the Abu Shouk kitchen served more than 4,800 people, while Al-Thawra North kitchen provided meals to over 1,700 people, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to more than 6,500 individuals.
