Saving Lives with Food Assistance …The Second Food Convoy to Al Fasher

On September 11, 2025, Malam Darfur Peace and Development, with financial support from AVAAZ, successfully distributed food aid to 600 families in the city of Al Fasher.

The food aid was distributed at Nusaiba Secondary School for Girls, located within the Peace Camp known as Aboga. This is one of about 13 centers where the remaining residents of Al Fasher are currently living.

The arrival of this second convoy inspires us to continue utilizing this access point and work towards making it sustainable. This significantly enhances our ability to continue providing the essential food aid that the people in Al Fasher desperately need. Many of them have to carry water on their heads from distant locations.

There is currently only one functioning hospital, the Saudi Hospital, which is far from the main gathering areas. People often have to carry the sick on their shoulders over long distances to reach the hospital.
The community has been vocal about the urgent need for schools to educate both boys and girls. They also require blankets, bedding, shelter materials, and cooking utensils.
