Malm Darfur for Peace and Development MDPD) kitchen is continue providing nutritious meals for displaced families in various shelters throughout Neyala, the capital of South Darfur.

On January 18, 2026, with the financial support from AVAAZ, MDPD kitchen at Muhaira shelter served a second round of meals and clean drinking water to 812 displaced families from Khartoum, Madani, and Al Hag Abdullah.

It’s interesting to note that children and women make up about 85% of the displaced individuals we’re helping.

During our work in the shelters in Neyala, we’ve observed that the displaced families face significant challenges, including a severe shortage of food, clean drinking water, and sanitary supplies. Sadly, diseases like malaria and diarrhea are spreading among children and women.
