Neyala is currently hosting a large number of displaced individuals from Al Fasher and other areas of Sudan, including Khartoum and Al Gazira. Sadly, these individuals have not received significant support and are facing severe shortages of food and healthcare.

As part of our plan to provide a balanced response to the needs of the displaced in the Darfur region, and based on assessments conducted by our team, MDPD has dedicated response programs for Neyala, which is home to numerous displaced families.

We are focusing on four major centers: Al Homaira, Mehira, Al Muqdad, and Al Khair, where we have started providing continuous meals for eight days, offering two meals per center daily.

On January 18, 2026, with financial support from AVAAZ, MDPD provided nutritious meals to the 226 families living in Al Khair camp, who have been displaced from Al Fasher and other areas in North Darfur.

Notably, 90% of these individuals are women and children, while men represent only 10%.

The meals have been specially prepared to be nutritious, particularly for children, pregnant and nursing mothers, and the elderly.
