On February 7, 2026, Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen provided a second meal for residents at Abu Shouk shelter in Al Fasher. The response from the community was overwhelming, with increased participation in meal preparation and significant assistance from residents in food distribution. The kitchen has become a social gathering point, evoking memories of joyful events they shared in times of peace.
The residents of Abu Shouk expressed a desire for the kitchen to operate for additional days. In response to the high population density in the area, our team extended the meal service to six consecutive days instead of the planned three. More than 90% of the beneficiaries are women and children.
