Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) has delivered food baskets to 525 families in need in the Turba village, located in South Darfur

Turba village, part of Al-Malam locality in South Darfur, serves as a border point separating South and North Darfur, with a valley acting as a natural divide from Tawila locality. This village was one of the many affected by Darfur conflict in 2003, resulting in the displacement of its residents to IDP camps in both North and South Darfur. The peacebuilding efforts undertaken by MDPD since 2011 have helped Turba residents to returned to their homes by the end of 2017.
Today, Turba stands as an exemplary model of peaceful coexistence, hosting displaced individuals and fostering bonds of peace and solidarity with its diverse community. The residents are now actively rebuilding their lives and empowering their community through agriculture, trade, and income-generating projects.
On February 10, 2026, MDPD provided food baskets to 525 families in need in Turba village.
