On February 15, 2026, Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen reached the crowded Al-Salam Abuja Camp, which is home to many displaced people in Al-Fasher, and served the first meal. Al-Salam Abuja Camp is one of the older displacement camps in the city and has sheltered a large number of those fleeing Darfur War since 2003, when residents from Melleet, Tura, Kurma, and Tawilah sought refuge there.
