During the holy month of Ramadan, MDPD expanded its food assistance to include displaced communities in Neyala and Tawila, as well as Sudanese refugees in Kiryandongo camp in Uganda. Throughout the month, MDPD kitchen organized weekly Iftar gatherings for these communities, which saw strong attendance due to the urgent need for food.
On March 16, 2026, the 27th day of Ramadan, MDPD kitchen provided its final weekly Iftar along with clean drinking water to approximately 700 displaced people at Al Khair IDP camp in Neyala, who had been displaced from North Darfur.
