Amid a noticeable increase, nearly 3,150 people received meals at Malam Darfur Peace and Development kitchen in Al Fasher

In recent days, the number of people in need of food who visit Malam Darfur Peace and Development kitchen in Abu Shouk, Al Fasher, has been rising steadily. Over just three days, the number increased from 2,800 to 3,000, reaching approximately 3,150 people who received a meal on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
This daily increase highlights the urgent need to sustain and expand this vital service to reach other areas whose residents may not be able to access the kitchen in Abu Shouk.
Malam Darfur Peace and Development is also working to broaden its coverage by dispatching a weekly convoy carrying 1,200 food baskets for distribution to vulnerable families across different neighborhoods in the city, especially those located far from the kitchen in Abu Shouk.
