In Al Fasher, a strong sense of community has grown around Malam Darfur Peace and Development kitchen, bringing together displaced communities, shelter centers, and neighborhood residents. Many men and women have volunteered to help prepare meals, forming a supportive network that enables the kitchen to carry out its vital daily work. The kitchen has become a lifeline, providing food each day to more than 3,000 people in need across the city.
On April 2, 2026, the kitchen served its daily meal to more than 3,250 people at its location in Abu Shouk, Al Fasher.
