Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) Continues Its Humanitarian Response in Al Fasher as Residents Look Forward to Healthcare and Education Services

Food remains the greatest daily concern for the people of Al Fasher. MDPD two community kitchens have become the main sources providing daily meals to thousands of residents across the city.
At the same time, people continue to express their urgent need for healthcare services and education for their children, who make up nearly 30% of the city’s population. This is a challenge that MDPD encounters every day through its close engagement with beneficiaries receiving food assistance and listening to their broader humanitarian needs.
On May 11, 2026, Abu Shouk community kitchen provided daily meals to more than 5,000 people.
