While continuing to provide food assistance to the residents of Al Fasher, Malam Darfur Peace and Development is gaining a deeper understanding of the city’s other urgent and essential needs

Through daily engagement with beneficiaries of the food assistance programs, people consistently and urgently express the need for additional critical services. Beyond increasing food support, residents continue to highlight the importance of access to education and healthcare, both of which remain essential priorities for the well-being and resilience of the community.
On May 20, 2026, the Abu Shouk Community Kitchen continued its daily operations, providing meals to more than 5,000 people. Meanwhile, the mobile kitchen concluded its fourth day in Al Shakereen neighborhood, serving daily meals to more than 1,600 people before moving on to support beneficiaries in another area of the city.
