The two community kitchens operated by Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) provided a meaningful opportunity for the people of Al Fasher to celebrate Eid Al-Adha together. The kitchens became welcoming spaces where families gathered to exchange Eid greetings and share a festive meal, preserving the spirit of togetherness that marks this blessed occasion despite the difficult circumstances facing the city.
On the second day of Eid Al-Adha, May 28, 2026, the Abu Shouk Community Kitchen, as usual, witnessed a large turnout and served meals to more than 5,000 people. At the same time, the Mobile Community Kitchen, operating across the four Al-Nasr neighborhoods, also received a large number of beneficiaries, providing meals to more than 2,100 people as part of MDPD’s ongoing efforts to support the most vulnerable communities in Al Fasher.
