As part of its weekly Ramadan Iftar program, the MDPD kitchen provided Iftar and clean drinking water on March 1/2026، (the 12th day of Ramadan) for around 1,100 displaced people at Mihaira Shelter Center in Nyala. Most of the beneficiaries were women and children (about 80%), while men made up around 20%.
In addition to the daily Ramadan Iftar in Al Fasher, the kitchen also organizes weekly Iftar meals for displaced communities in Tawila and Neyala, as well as for Sudanese refugees in Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Uganda. MDPD is also preparing to distribute food baskets to vulnerable families in the Sudanese refugee camp in Adré, eastern Chad.
