As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community kitchens in Al Fasher and expand food support to families across the city, Malam Darfur for Peace and Development (MDPD) continues to deliver its weekly food convoys.
On April 16, 2026, MDPD distributed 1,200 food baskets, reaching 1,200 families in 11 neighborhoods across Al Fasher. These neighborhoods include: Al-Tijaniya, Awlad Al-Reef, Al-Thawra South, Al-Osra, Al-Tadamon, Shoba, Khorsayal, Al-Nakhil, Al-Rayan, Al-Mustaqbal, and Al-Neel.
Most of the residents in these neighborhoods have recently returned to Al Fasher from Nyala, Mellit, Al-Koma, Torra, Tawila, Korma, and surrounding rural areas of Al Fasher.
This effort is part of MDPD’s broader efforts to supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring continued access to essential food assistance.
