March 31, 2026, was a significant day that highlighted the growing and urgent need for food among residents of Al Fasher. Each week, communities anticipate the arrival of MDPD convoy, which distributes 1,200 food baskets to 1,200 families, alongside the daily kitchen that provides meals to more than 3,000 people in need.
When the convoy arrived on the last day of March, more than 3,000 families were waiting. Our team was able to distribute 1,200 food baskets to the most vulnerable households, with the remaining families to be supported in the coming week. This clearly reflects the rising number of families in need and the urgent necessity to scale up assistance.
MDPD distributed 920 food baskets to 920 families in Abuga IDP Camp, 100 baskets to 100 families in Al Salam neighborhood, and 180 baskets to 180 families at Al Ma’zanatain shelter center.
