Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen completed the second phase of meal distributions at the main shelter centers for displaced individuals in Neyala, the capital of South Darfur

On January 25, 2026, with financial support from AVAAZ, Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen provided a second meal and clean drinking water to approximately 500 families at the Al Meqdad shelter.

These families have been displaced from various regions in Darfur, including Al Fashir and surrounding areas in North Darfur, as well as individuals from Al Genaina and even those who have come from outside Darfur, including the states of Khartoum and Al Gazirah and Al HaG Abdullah area.

It’s clear that over 75% of these displaced individuals are women and children, who are in great need of ongoing food assistance and access to clean drinking water, especially as the flow of food aid has sadly come to a halt since the beginning of this year.

Malam Darfur for Peace and Development is dedicated to strengthening its capabilities to ensure that it can continue to provide these essential services, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which will begin shortly after mid-February 2026.
