On January 21, 2026, with financial support from AVAAZ, Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen continued its daily meal service for displaced persons in shelter centers in Neyala, the capital of South Darfur.

The kitchen served its second meal and provided clean drinking water to 812 displaced families from Khartoum, Al Gazeera State , and Al Hag Abdullah, with 85% of them being women and children who have settled in Mohaira shelter center.

This service comes at a time when the displaced individuals are facing food shortages due to the interruption of food and health aid since the beginning of the new year. Additionally, the arrival of Ramadan makes the continuation of this food assistance essential and urgent.
