More than 2,000 fasting individuals at the Sudanese refugee camp in Kiryandongo, Uganda, enjoyed a Ramadan Iftar provided by Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen

Amidst an unprecedented wave of displacement and refugee crises in Sudan due to the ongoing war, Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) team is striving to delivering humanitarian assistance to those in need, both within Sudan and beyond.
As part of its efforts to support refugee communities, MDPD Kitchen has started offering a weekly Iftar every Friday for Sudanese refugees at Kiryandongo camp in Uganda. On Friday, February 20, 2026, the third day of Ramadan, the kitchen served Iftar to over 2,000 fasting individuals from four clusters within the camp.
