February 18, 2026, marked a wonderful beginning for Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen in Al Fasher, where it brought together more than two thousand residents of Abu Shouk area to share in the blessings of Ramadan. The kitchen revived the spirit of Ramadan, creating a warm atmosphere for fasting individuals as they gathered to break their fast and pray together.
In preparation for this special occasion, the displaced community, both men and women, joined forces to prepare the Iftar meal, becoming an integral part of the kitchen and its mission. The kitchen transformed into a beloved gathering place for women, children, and men alike during this holy month.
Most of Abu Shouk residents came from surrounding areas such as rural Al Fasher, Kurma, Kotom, and Melleet, as well as the eastern neighborhoods Al Fasher.
