Remarkable scenes are unfolding at Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen in Al Fasher. On February 5, 2026, the kitchen served its third and final meal in Al-Thawra neighborhood, where residents invited their neighbors from Al-Tadamon to share the meal. This act fosters a sense of community solidarity, which the kitchen has revived through its outreach across neighborhoods and shelters.
One woman expressed, “Previously, due to malnutrition, we were unable to perform many household tasks, such as cleaning and others. After consuming these meals, we have regained our vitality and energy, and we are now able to accomplish many tasks.”
While the nutritious meals provided by Malam Darfur Peace and Development Kitchen, with financial support from AVAAZ, are vital, the residents of Al Fasher are looking forward to receiving additional essential services, including access to clean drinking water, healthcare, and education.
