On Monday, December 29, 2025, Malam Darfur Peace and Development team in Neyala, with financial support from AVAAZ, had the wonderful opportunity to distribute 1,000 food baskets at Otash displacement camp, which is home to 186,794 people.
A total of 600 baskets were given to vulnerable individuals with special needs, while 400 went to families facing the greatest hardships.
Otash camp has been a shelter for displaced individuals since the outbreak of the Darfur war in 2003.
Since then, the residents have been relying on limited aid, and their situation has become even more challenging following the recent outbreak of conflict on April 15, 2023.
