At the start of the new year, Malam Darfur Peace and Development (MDPD) successfully expanded, diversified, and enhanced the food assistance provided to the city of Al Fasher.
On January 1, 2026, with financial support from AVAAZ, MDPD sent out four food trucks simultaneously: two to Al Fasher, one to Tawila , and one to Katoor, in East Gebel Marra.
The two food trucks sent to Al Fasher delivered 1,415 food baskets, which were distributed to 1,415 families, benefiting over 7,000 people still living in various neighborhoods of the city.
These areas included “ Al-Rahma, Al-Basheer, Amna Bint Wahab Shelter, Al-Mudrag neighborhood, West Al-Salam, and Um Shegaira”.
